This technique is great for creating beautiful artworks in their own right, or fabulous mixed media background papers for collage and paper crafts. Below are some examples of negative space painting I’ve created and some of the ways in which I’ve used the technique.

This is a paper bag I decorated using the negative space technique to create a unique Christmas gift bag: I used a holly-style leaf and a mixture of watercolours, acrylic and Brusho.
These Christmas cards were made from two negative space paintings, I used a die-cutting machine and mixed the designs with gold and silver paper to create these interesting patterns.
