Card making- what I’ve been making during June, July and August

During the summer months I find I go through a slowing down in my creative process. This often means pressing pause on making finished art works and leaning into relaxing craft activities like card making. This way I get to enjoy the process of making something physically with my hands, without the pressure of creating “fine art” works or pieces that can be displayed in a gallery setting. Making cards is an activity I can do without too much mental load and thought process, it’s something I can dip in and out of yet still scratches that creative itch.

And yes, this may make some of you feel a little repulsed, but this has included making Christmas cards (Yes in August!). I find it helps me to have my festive cards made well in advance as it often gets too stressful and overwhelming during the festive months; I tend to make my cards during my slower Summer months when the pressure is off and I can take my time.

I tend to make my cards using a mixture of digital kits that I have downloaded or made myself. If you enjoy making your own cards why not check out my Etsy Shop where you can purchase digital kits to download instantly and start making your own cards straight away. And don’t forget to check out my FREEBIES that you can instantly download for free now!
