Here is a quick catch up of my Mini Collage a day challenge. At the end of the week I seemed to be drawn to bright, warm colours such as reds, pinks and oranges, as well as imagery like fruit and flowers. At the beginning of the week I experimented further with using text in my collages, layering ephemera with different font in the background as well as in the foreground of my pieces.
On the 28.02.26 I created a collage based on Pablo Picasso’s “Bottle, cup and newspaper” from 1912 which only included one small fragment of collage interspersed with cubist style line drawings.

My favourite piece from this week was 26.02.26 “You are a work of art” I like the mix of fonts, hand painted paper fragments and a bold sentiment focal point. I also like the ambiguity of the statement- is the phrase referring to the artist, the viewer or the piece itself?
See you next time!
