I know it’s only August, but when you are a crafter, preparation for Christmas comes early!
I made this junk journal recently with a Christmas theme. It’s a great way to store your memories from Christmas, jot down those Christmas lists and thank you card lists and keep tracks on who’s been naughty or nice! It would also make a great Christmas gift for that family member in your life who just loves everything Christmas!
This journal has a vintage Christmas feel with tea stained pages, aged papers, stamping and vintage style ephemera.
The journal measures 16.5cm x 21 cm and has a 1 cm spine with one signature which is machine sewn. This is a relatively short journal with 24 pages and has plenty of space inside to write down your memories, stick in photographs or store momentoes.
The front cover is strong card stock covered with brown paper with a toadstool and fern motif which I have then aged using inks, paints and gesso.
The image on the front is of a heavily laden car driving home for Christmas, and it is a print of one of my own drawings. (This design can be found on many items in my redbubble shop HERE) This image is backed onto vintage style Christmas music paper. In the top left corner is a Father Christmas Faux tag tied with twine, and the journal fastens with twine also giving it a nice rustic feel.
The pages are made up of tea stained, inked and stamped pages and paper bags.
The journal contains pockets to store ephemera and momentos and journaling cards of various sizes with a vintage feel.
It contains vintage style Christmas postcards backed with aged paper for further journaling possibilities.
It includes two mixed media decorated one of a kind envelopes which are beautifully textured and festive in the colours green and red, and includes metal paper clips to keep your envelopes secure.
