In my sketchbook I have been enjoying reworking old and new life drawings into new compositions using collage and mixed media techniques.

I used old paintings that I no longer liked or needed and cut them up to create new pieces in my sketchbook using them as backgrounds or parts of the works as focal points.

Another process I’ve been experimenting with is photographing existing life drawings that I didn’t want to permanently cut up, editing and resizing them on the computer and printing them out to use as collage elements in my sketchbook. I have enjoyed combining my life drawing work with my fascination with birds and vessels, creating colourful compositions with personal meaning.

This is a process I intend to continue and develop over the coming months- combining disparate elements of my work together to create something new.
